Who We Are

Founded in 2008, we’re a full-service software engineering staffing agency and consultancy. In practice, that means we work as your partner – designing, building, and maintaining full software systems and solutions, providing premium-level staff augmentation, or helping hire great talent. We focus on all parts of the software engineering lifecycle – developers, quality assurance engineers, program managers, systems analysts, technical writers, user experience designers, etc.

There are a number of companies that do this work. We’ve been successful by combining great software skills with people-ready attitudes and an emotional investment in building great things for people who care about the results.

The Rooster Park Software Development Team comes from some of Seattle’s best companies: we have engineers from Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Expedia, Disney, F5, Expeditors International, and too many small companies to count, plus an occasional post-college superstar.

We’re a four-time winner of the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Washington (including third place in 2013) and a two-time member of the Inc. 5000.

Scott Ruthfield

Founder / CEO

Scott Ruthfield founded Rooster Park in 2008 after spending 10 years as an engineering leader, hiring consulting and full-time engineers for various organizations. That experience led him to believe that there was a better way to create the sort of partner that other technology and product leaders would want to call when they needed help building and augmenting teams; top-quality engineering service without any fuss.

Before starting Rooster Park, Scott was VP of Engineering & Technology for WhitePages.com, a $70MM+, 150-person company focused on people search at massive scale. His work there included building and shipping a suite of new services, including user-generated listings, web service APIs, and significant site redesigns, and transitioning the technology team from a service organization to a product development partner.

Previous to WhitePages, Scott was at Amazon.com, leading business & technology teams focused on a wide range of customer-facing products. Before Amazon, Scott spent 5+ years at Microsoft in various program management & leadership roles.

Scott was part of Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2012. He’s no longer Under 40. In his spare time, Scott’s a husband and father of two daughters, a vaguely-competitive runner, and a state soccer referee.

The Rooster Park Recruitment Team consists of experienced, passionate recruiters, focused on getting to know candidates, understanding their skills and goals, and thinking hard about matching the right person to the right job. Our recruiters don’t have quotas, and are measured both on finding great matches and on the relationships they build with technical candidates in the Seattle area and beyond.
